Our senior personnel has over 50 years of international investment banking experience, having worked in leading positions at major investment banks in London, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, New York, and Hong Kong.
Teams are assembled according to client needs with skill sets stretching from project leaders with broad cross-over skills to specialists with expertise in credit and debt, private and venture capital, derivatives, financial modelling, transaction structuring, regulations, credit ratings, to investor relations and specialty knowledge areas like Islamic finance.

Rolf Steffens has founded Isar Financial Partners in 2014 initially for his business activities in the German speaking countries. He has more than 30 years of professional experience in international banking business and has spent large parts of his career in London. He is currently also Managing Director of Cadeia GmbH, Berlin, and Interim Managing Director of linx4 GmbH, Vienna. Most recently, he was a partner at Aybrook Financial Partners in London and Dublin. Prior positions included Member of the Management Board and Head of Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities (FICC) in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as Head of Asset & Liability Management for the EMEA Region at Merrill Lynch International, London, Head of Integrated Credit Trading for German-speaking countries at Deutsche Bank, London, and Global Head of Credit Structuring at the HSBC Group, London and New York City. He has lead teams in London, Frankfurt, New York City as well as in Hong Kong. At Deloitte & Touche he was able to gain experience in banking auditing and consulting. Rolf is a trained banker and holds a diploma in business administration of the University of Applied Sciences at Koblenz. He is a member of the Professional Risk Managers' International Association as well as the German-British Chamber of Industry & Commerce and has, among other things, an Associate Professional Risk Manager certification (APRM), the Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ) of the Securities & Investment Institute (SII, now called Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment or CISI) and the Ecole Superieure des Affairs (ESA) as well as the Oxford University - Said Business School fintech certification. Rolf lectures at Munich Business School and FOM Hochschule für Oekonomie & Management and frequently holds seminars, among others, at Hochschule Karlsruhe and RWTH Aachen. He has been retained as court appointed independent expert in international litigation cases and is currently also non-executive board member at Onpex S.A., a Luxembourg based payment institution.
